Personal Workspaces
If you use Connecter with a Personal Workspace, you can use the Workspace Backup utility to set up an automatic backup. By default, Connecter will attempt to back up the Workspace when you finish your work for the day and close the app.
On your first exit from Connecter, a dialog box will appear to ask if you want to have a backup or not. If you create a backup, you'll need to point to a folder where Connecter will save this and the subsequent backups.
To change the Workspace Backup utility settings:
- Πpen it from Tools -> Workspace backup.
- Make your preferences and click the "Save and close" button.

To turn off the automatic updates:
- Open the Workspace Backup utility from the Tools menu.
- Choose the "No automatic updates" option.
- Click the "Save and close" button.
To make a backup on demand:

Restore your Workspace from backup
The Connecter backup file contains a copy of the state of your Workspace database and a copy of the previews folder. Connecter makes copies of the previews users assigned to assets and saves them in the Preview folder. That way, they can still have them available even if they move or delete the original assets used as previews.
NOTE: It's important not to delete this folder, even if it starts to take up space, as you'll lose the previews in Connecter.
The backup is a ZIP file in the location you've chosen. In case of an emergency, you can follow these steps to restore your Workspace:
- Unzip the backup file you want to use.
- Delete the old database and Previews folder from Connecter's folder.
- Copy and paste the backup database file and Previews folder into the Connecter's folder.
NOTE: This is a destructive action that will erase all changes you've made in the Workspace since the time of the used backup.
