Connecter provides advanced search operators to refine your search results. They’re available in the global search box at the top and in the Folders panel.

Here's a list of all available search operators and examples of their use:

  • AND: Returns results that contain all search terms – a search for "Sofa AND White" will return assets that have both Sofas and White in their filenames.
  • OR: Returns results that contain either of the search terms – a search for "Sofa OR Chair" will return assets that either have “Sofa” or “Chair” in their filenames.
  • NOT: Excludes results that contain a specific search term – a search for "Chair NOT Leather" will return all assets that have “Chair” in their filenames but don't have “Leather”.
  • +: Putting a “+” before a search term makes it required in the results. For example, if you use  Custom Properties for creator names, searching “+John Miley” will return all assets that include John, whether Miley is included or not. Searching “+John +Miley” requires both names to appear, so it works like an “AND” search and returns only assets created by John and Miley together.
  • -: This operator works like “NOT” – input “table -square,” and you’ll get all the non-square tables in your asset library. The difference is that the “-” can go first, “-square table,” but you do need to follow it up with another search term.
  • *: With this symbol, you can substitute any number of characters.
  • ?: This one can replace only one character.
  • [A TO Z]: With this operator, you can determine the range of characters you want Connecter to look for.
  • {A TO Z}: Alternatively, this one will exclude the determined character range from the results.
  • ~: This operator after the term allows for fuzzy searches that look for text that matches the search term closely but not necessarily exactly.

From the Search field, you can also search for metadata generated with Connecter’s AI Studio – AI Studio Labels, AI Annotation, and Aliases – or your Custom Properties.
