The Metadata Harvester can encounter issues during the processing of the assets. Any errors will be logged in an Error log, which can be accessed from the âOpen logâ button on the top of the Metadata Harvester Interface:
These are the most common errors you may encounter while using the Metadata Harvester tool and the potential reasons for them to occur:
- âAsset is missingâ â The asset can be missing in the file system and canât be processed, or the file representing the asset can be corrupted or invalid.
- âFile format could not be determinedâ â This error can occur when reading metadata and thumbnails from some 3d models or video assets.
- âRenderer not availableâ â This error can occur when the metadata of assets like .max, .mat, and .c4d assets doesnât contain the renderer of the scene.
- âReading any metadata failedâ â Connecter logs any missing metadata as an error. That ensures the logged information is detailed enough to determine what issues occurred during the processing and why the information for these assets is unavailable.
- âUnable to load bitmapâ â If Connecter encounters any errors when trying to read or generate a preview, theyâll be logged in detail, providing the necessary information to determine what issues occurred during the processing.
- âDedicated Instances not set upâ â Processing the 3ds Max material assets (.mat) and Revit families (.rfa) is done using the Dedicated services. If theyâre not set up, Connecter will log an error when processing .mat or .rfa assets. Youâll need to set up the Dedicated services before running the harvesting process.
- âUnexpected error while reading the thumbnailâ â This error can occur if the harvesting process encounters any unexpected errors while processing the assets.
