Overview

A Partner can be anyone you collaborate with by sharing a selection of previews of your cataloged assets from your Connecter Suite's Workspace. A typical example would be clients or project coordinators who don’t use Connecter’s desktop app.

IMPORTANT: Partners aren’t counted as Team Members, so you can have as many Partners as you need, and it won't affect your Connecter's Suite subscription plan. The team has full control over which parts of a Web Catalog a Partner can see.

How to invite a Partner?

Here are the steps you need to follow:

1. Go to the Team Portal and log in as an Admin.

2. Fill in your name, as it’ll appear in the Web Catalog, and a password for your account.
3. Click “Join.”
4. The Web Catalogs you have access to as a team partner are listed in your account. You can click on the icon after the Web Catalog you want to visit or go to Web Catalogs.
5. Log in.

NOTE: Only a Partner can edit their name in the Team Portal.

What can a Partner do?

A partner can perform the following actions in the Smart Catalogs, Asset Sets, and Collection Sets shared with them:

  • Preview the assets and see the different asset previews if there are more than one.
  • Filter by assets’ name.

Additionally, in Smart Catalogs shared with them, Partners can do the following:

  • Access: Partners have access to all assets in the Smart Catalog.
  • Add Assets: Partners can add a selection of assets to a Collection they’ve created, or that is shared with them.

In Assets Sets, shared with them, Partners can do the following:

  • Access: Partners have access to all assets in the Assets Set.
  • Add Assets: Partners can add a selection of assets to a Collection they’ve created or that is shared with them.

In Collection Sets, shared with them, Partners can do the following:

  • Access: Partners have access to the whole Collection Set, not to a specific Collection(s) in it.
  • Add and Delete Collections: If a Partner adds their own Collection, it’ll have a visual indication only Team Members can see. They can also delete a Collection they have added.
  • Add/Suggest assets to a Collection: A Partner can add assets (from Smart Catalogs, Assets Sets, or other Collections shared with them) to their own Collections or add them to a Team Member’s Collection. The asset added to the Team Member-added Collection will appear with a green hand at the bottom left corner, indicating that this is a suggested asset.
  • Remove assets from a Collection: Partners can remove suggestions from their Collections, assets from their Collections, and suggestions they’ve made to a Team Member’s Collection.
  • Accept/Reject assets: Partners can accept or reject a selection of assets added by Team Members in a Team Member-added Collections. The assets will have one of the two statuses visible afterward. Partners can change the status from Accepted to Rejected and vice versa. Partners can't accept or reject assets in Collections they've added – if they add assets there, they’ll be suggested assets.
  • Rename Collections: Partners can rename only the Collections they have added, not the ones added by a Team Member.
  • Set cover: Partners can choose a cover for the Collections they've added from the assets in the Collection.

When a Partner logs in, they can choose which of the Web Catalogs shared with them to open.

Limitations

Partners can't perform some of the actions Team members can, such as the following:

  • Access your Workspaces in Connecter.
  • Access the entire Web Catalog with all assets as a team member can.
  • Access Smart Catalogs, Assets Sets, and Collection Sets that aren't shared with them. They don't see the assets, nor can they perform any actions towards them.
  • Add new Smart Catalogs, Assets Sets, or Collection Sets.
