Feature availability 🛈
⭕ Personal ✔️ Suite
This section applies if your asset library includes native formats for 3ds Max, Cinema 4D, or Revit. Connecter can use dedicated instances of these applications to generate better previews for annotation, ensuring accurate annotation metadata for these assets.
How it works
- Connecter can use dedicated instances of host applications like Revit, 3ds Max, or Cinema 4D to generate temporary previews for assets during annotation.
- These previews are discarded after use but provide a more accurate visual context when embedded or custom previews are unavailable.
Managing Dedicated Services
The option to manage dedicated services is available in both the Annotation Genie and the Annotation Scheduler. You can control the use of these services to customize how Connecter handles native asset formats:
-
Service availability: Each service displays its current status:
- Available: Ready for use.
- Requires Setup: Needs configuration to function.
- Unavailable: Not detected on your system.
-
Enable/Disable services:
- Toggle each service to “Enabled” or “Disabled” based on your preferences.
- Enabling a service allows Connecter to generate previews for supported file types during annotation.
-
What happens when services are disabled?
- If a service is disabled, Connecter will use existing embedded previews or custom previews instead. If the embedded previews are low-quality, this may result in less accurate annotations.
- Assets without any visual context (embedded or custom previews) will not be annotated if the related dedicated service is disabled.
