The AI Studio’s Annotation Genie and Annotation Scheduler tools can’t run simultaneously, and notifications appear if one is already active.

The annotation process – whether started through the Annotation Genie or Annotation Scheduler – runs on a single Connecter instance at a time. While it is possible to transfer the process to another computer, this requires contacting our support team. For a seamless experience, plan to use the same system for both the current and future annotation runs.

The AI Studio’s Annotation Genie and Annotation Scheduler tools can’t run simultaneously in different Connecter instances within the same Workspace. The annotation process – whether using the Annotation Genie or Annotation Scheduler – is designed as a single, team-wide operation to ensure consistency and prevent conflicts.

Key Principles

  • One process per Workspace.

The annotation process is shared across your Workspace and can only run on one Connecter instance at a time. If you need to switch the annotation process to another computer, you must contact our support team for assistance.

  • Centralized annotation for teams.

    • The annotation process is typically run on a single machine with the best performance to handle the processing efficiently.

    • This centralization ensures the entire team benefits from the results, keeping metadata generation consistent and reducing duplicated effort.

  • Optimize processing times.

    • Non-active hours: While the running annotation process doesn’t interrupt other team members, it may affect the performance of the system running the process. Schedule annotations during times when that system isn’t actively used by its operator to avoid slowdowns.

    • Dedicated systems: If your team has a dedicated system for tasks like metadata harvesting, it’s ideal to run annotation processes there. That ensures that other systems remain fully available for the team members’ day-to-day work.
