Effective Date: 23.01.2025
This End-User License Agreement (EULA) is a legal agreement between you (an individual or entity) and Design Connected EOOD (referred to as "Design Connected," "we," "us") governing your use of the Connecter Desktop App ("Software") and the Connecter Suite SaaS platform ("Connecter Suite").
By using the Software or Connecter Suite, you agree to the terms of this EULA. If you don't agree, don't use the Software or Connecter Suite.
1. Definitions
For the purposes of this EULA:
- Software: The Connecter Desktop App, including updates, third-party software integration, features, and documentation.
- Connecter Suite: A SaaS platform containing a wide set of AI-powered, automation, and collaboration tools integrated with the Software, including Team Portal, AI Studio, Web Catalogs, Version Control, Hybrid DAM, Feedback features, and more.
- AI Studio: An expanding suite of AI-powered tools and workflows within Connecter that aim to automate and enhance asset management. For detailed terms, see AI Studio Terms.
- User Data: All files managed by users within the Connecter Desktop App and Connecter Suite, such as 3d models, images, and documents. In the Connecter ecosystem, files are referred to as assets. "User Data" refers specifically to the actual assets and is distinct from "Metadata," which provides descriptive information about these assets.
- Metadata: Information associated with digital assets, such as tags, descriptions, and file properties, added by users or generated by the Connecter Desktop App and Connecter Suite features. While the User Data refers to the actual asset, the Metadata facilitates asset management.
- Third-Party Software: Any software components not developed by us but included in or integrated with the Software, subject to separate license terms.
- Design Connected ID: A free account on DesignConnected.com used to download the Connecter Desktop App, start free trials, initiate subscriptions, manage recurring and prepaid balance payments, download invoices, create a Team, and other Connecter Suite-related activities.
- Team Owner: The user who holds the Design Connected ID and uses it to create a Team and invite a Team Admin through the Team Portal at teamwork.connecterapp.com. The Team Owner is responsible for managing the Connecter Suite subscription and associated payments.
- Team Admin: The user invited through the Team Owner's account to manage team members, permissions, and various features via the Team Portal on teamwork.connecterapp.com.
- Team Account: An account created on teamwork.connecterapp.com, used by team members to access the Connecter Suite Workspace needed for using the Connecter Desktop App with Connecter Suite features. Separate from the Design Connected ID used for managing subscriptions.
- Free Trial: A limited-time, no-cost period during which a Team Admin and their team have full access to all Connecter Suite tools and features in the selected or custom subscription tier.
- Subscription: A recurring payment plan providing access to premium features and services in Connecter Suite.
- Concurrent User: A team member actively connected to the Connecter Suite Workspace through the Connecter Desktop App. The subscription tier determines the total number of concurrent users allowed.
- Personal Workspace: This is the free-to-use mode of the Software with Connecter Suite features locked, designed for individual users with limited functionality.
- Connecter Suite Workspace: A collaborative environment within Connecter Suite, hosted either on-premises or on the Connecter Suite cloud, where team members can manage and access shared metadata and tools, configure permissions, and more. Each subscription is linked to a single team, but the team can create and manage multiple Workspaces, each with distinct team members and permissions.
2. About Connecter Desktop App
The Connecter Desktop App is standalone software designed for efficiently managing digital assets and metadata. It supports individual workflows through the free Personal Workspace and enhanced capabilities when integrated with Connecter Suite.
3. About Connecter Suite
Connector Suite is a subscription-based SaaS platform that extends the capabilities of the Connecter Desktop App by unlocking advanced automation, AI-powered features, and cloud-connected tools. The "Accounts" and "Access Levels" sections provide details about accessing and using these features.
4. License Grant
We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Software and Connecter Suite solely for managing your asset libraries in accordance with this EULA.
Personal Workspace License
The Personal Workspace is free for individual users but has limited features. It can be used for both personal and commercial purposes without restrictions.
Connecter Suite Integration License
Available with an active subscription, providing access to advanced features.
This license does not grant you ownership of the Software or its associated intellectual property.
Device Installation Limitations
- Personal Workspace: Users may install and use the Connecter Desktop App on unlimited devices without restrictions.
- Connecter Suite: The Connecter Desktop App may also be installed on as many devices as needed. However, each user must connect to a Team Workspace they have access to and can only connect from one instance of the app at a time. The number of users who can connect to the team's Workspaces simultaneously is limited by the maximum number of concurrent users allowed by the subscription tier.
Third-Party Software
The Software may include third-party components licensed under separate terms. By using the Software, you agree to comply with those license terms. For details on licensing third-party software and components, refer to "Third-Party Software."
5. Permitted Uses
You may use the Software to:
- Manage digital assets and metadata on supported devices.
- Sync and collaborate with Connecter Suite services when you have an active subscription.
User Responsibilities
When using the Software or Connecter Suite, you agree to:
- Avoid unauthorized sharing, resale, or duplication of any components of the Software, Connecter Suite, or third-party integrations.
- Not exceed permitted usage limits or circumvent security features. Unauthorized use is strictly prohibited.
- Use the Software and Connecter Suite only for its intended purposes and in compliance with this EULA, applicable laws, and regulations. You shall not engage in actions that infringe upon intellectual property rights, violate public morality, or disrupt the functionality of our systems or those of third-party providers.
6. Restrictions
You may not:
- Modify, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software.
- Rent, lease, sublicense, or distribute the Software or its components.
- Modify the Software without prior written consent from us.
- Use the Software in any manner that violates applicable laws.
7. Access Levels
Free Personal Workspace
- Available to all users without a subscription.
- Includes essential asset management tools and workflows.
Connecter Suite Integration
- Requires an active subscription.
- Enables advanced asset management, automation, and AI-powered features. The Connecter Suite includes powerful features within the desktop app, some integrated with cloud services and applications and others available as web applications.
8. Accounts
Design Connected ID
- To download the software, you need a free member account at designconnected.com, called the Design Connected ID. While the account isn't needed to use the Software after download, it's essential for redownloading or accessing newer versions.
-
A Design Connected ID is required to start and maintain a Connecter Suite subscription. From this account, you can:
- Start a free trial or activate a paid subscription.
- Manage recurring payments and prepaid balances.
- Upgrade, downgrade, and cancel subscription.
- Download invoices for all transactions.
The Team Owner uses this account to create a team and invite a Team Admin through the Team Portal.
Team Accounts
Once invited, the Team Admin and all team members register Team Accounts on teamwork.connecterapp.com. These accounts are used to:
- Connect to the team's Connecter Suite Workspace via the Connecter Desktop App, with permissions granted by the Team Admin.
- Access the Team Portal and other web apps within the Connecter Suite ecosystem, such as Web Catalogs.
While the subscription is managed via the Design Connected ID, the Team Admin controls team permissions, settings, and features through the Team Portal.
Company Accounts
If you create an account on behalf of a company, organization, or other entity (a "Company Account"), you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
In such cases, the terms "you" and "your," as used throughout these Terms, apply both to you as an individual and to the company or organization you represent.
Ownership Transfer
The transfer of Team Ownership from one Design Connected ID to another is possible upon request.
9. Connecter Suite Free Trials
Free Trial Overview
The free trial allows new users to experience the full functionality of Connecter Suite without limitations. Free trials include access to all tools and features available in the chosen subscription tier, providing an opportunity to explore the suite's capabilities in depth.
Starting a Free Trial
- The Team Owner initiates a Free Trial by selecting any available subscription tier, including a customized plan organized by us.
- A payment method isn't required to start the trial, as it doesn't automatically convert into a paid subscription.
Free Trial Duration and Terms
- The standard free trial period is two months; however, this duration is subject to change at our discretion.
- Custom trial durations may be arranged upon request. Free trial extensions are offered at our sole discretion and may not always be available.
Transition to Paid Subscription
- At the end of the free trial, the Team Owner will receive an email with instructions for starting a paid subscription.
- To continue using Connecter Suite, the Team Owner must select a subscription tier that can differ from the one used during the trial or choose a customized plan previously discussed with us.
Metadata and Workspace Continuity
All metadata, team members, permissions, and Workspace settings configured during the free trial will be preserved and automatically transferred to the Workspace under the paid subscription, ensuring seamless continuity. That allows teams to continue their workflows uninterrupted after transitioning to a paid plan.
10. Payments and Billing
Subscription Plans
- Monthly Subscriptions: Offered for most plans with a recurring month-to-month commitment.
- Annual-only Subscriptions: These are available for entry-level plans with one or two included named member licenses. They offer the same features as higher tiers at a reduced annual rate.
- Prepaid Annual Subscriptions: Available upon request for all tiers, with payment due in full within 30 days of invoice issuance. Discounts may apply.
Recurring Payments and Service Continuity
- Subscriptions must be paid in full for the current term to remain operational.
- In cases of failed recurring payments, the system will retry the charge for three consecutive days. If payment isn't resolved, the subscription will be temporarily suspended until payment is successfully completed.
- As long as the subscription is active, users can update payment details by logging in with their Design Connected ID. If the subscription is suspended due to failed payment, the user should start a new plan or contact support.
Canceling a Subscription
- Subscriptions are set to auto-renew by default. To cancel, the Team Owner must log in with their Design Connected ID and disable the auto-renew option. The subscription will remain active until the end of the current paid term.
Notifications for Annual Subscriptions
- To ensure timely renewal, Team Owners of annual plans will receive a notification 30 days before the current term expires.
- Notifications for recurring charges aren't sent for monthly subscriptions. The user is responsible for monitoring the subscription and ensuring payment is maintained.
License Seats and Subscription Tiers
We offer subscription tiers based on the number of concurrent users allowed:
- Solo: Designed for individuals. The Team Admin is the only team member and can install the Connecter App on multiple devices but connect to the Connecter Suite Workspace from one instance at a time. Paid annually.
- Duo: Similar to Solo but for two named members. Paid annually.
- Team Tiers: Options for up to five and ten concurrent users. Teams can have unlimited members, but the tier limits the number of users who can simultaneously use Connecter Suite.
- Custom Plans: Tailored plans are available to accommodate specific team needs for the number of concurrent users.
Upgrades and Downgrades
- Upgrades: Team Owners can move to a higher tier or increase the number of concurrent users. For upgrades, the additional cost for the remaining term will be charged immediately. For annual plans, this cost will be included in a separate invoice. The new rate will apply in full at the start of the next billing cycle.
- Downgrades: Team Owners can reduce their tier or concurrent users for the next billing cycle. They can initiate downgrades by selecting a lower plan through the Design Connected ID or contacting support for custom adjustments.
Team Partners
Team Partners are collaborators invited to use features like Web Catalogs. They aren't counted against the maximum number of concurrent users in the subscription plan and are free across all tiers.
Taxes, Currency, and Payment Processing
- All prices and invoices are issued in Euro (€).
- Taxes are calculated during the checkout process and handled by our payment processor, Stripe.
- Stripe securely manages credit card information to enable recurring payments.
Prepaid Balance for Connecter Suite
Certain features, such as AI Studio, require a prepaid balance. These funds are non-refundable and consumed based on usage. For more details, refer to the Connecter Suite Prepaid Balance guide.
Refund Policy
We don't offer refunds for subscriptions, prepaid balances, or additional charges.
Payment Obligations
You agree to pay all applicable charges and fees associated with your use of the Software and Connecter Suite. That includes:
- Payments for your selected subscription plan will be recurring as per the terms outlined in your subscription agreement.
- On-demand payments to add funds to your prepaid balance, which are used for pay-as-you-go features and services.
11. Workspace Data Migration and Retention
Data Migration
- From Personal Workspace to Suite Workspace: Users of the free Personal Workspace can migrate their workspace data to a Connecter Suite Workspace anytime, enabling enhanced functionality and collaboration features.
- From Suite Workspace to Personal Workspace: Migrating Workspace data from a Connecter Suite Workspace back to a Personal Workspace isn't supported.
- Between Suite Workspaces: Migrating data between two Connecter Suite Workspaces isn't supported.
- Transfers Between Design Connected Cloud and On-Premises: We offer the option of transferring Workspace data between the Design Connected Cloud infrastructure and your on-premises environment or vice versa. This service requires coordination with our team and may incur additional charges. Note that we don't guarantee the availability of this service within a specific timeframe.
Data Retention
- When a free trial expires, or a subscription isn't renewed, the Workspace data, including metadata, team members, permissions, and settings, will be retained for six months. The Team Owner can start a paid subscription or renew an expired subscription during this period to retain access. After six months, all Workspace data will be permanently deleted.
- Users can request the immediate deletion of their Workspace data upon canceling their subscription if they don't plan to return to the service.
Workspace Backups
We perform regular hourly backups of all Workspaces to ensure data protection. However, users can't directly restore from backups. To revert a Workspace to its previous state, the Team Owner or Admin must contact us to arrange the necessary technical steps.
While we strive to assist with such requests, we don't guarantee that reverting a Workspace to a previous state will always be possible. The Team Owner and Admin are responsible for managing team permissions and preventing disruptive actions by team members to avoid data loss or other issues that could complicate the backup restoration process.
12. Updates and Maintenance
Automatic Updates
The Software receives automatic updates to improve functionality, security, and compatibility. Updates may:
- Introduce new features and modify or remove existing ones, with or without notice. Certain updates may include features exclusive to Connecter Suite subscribers.
- Require an active internet connection and can't be deferred or reverted.
Third-Party Software Integrations
The Software and Connecter Suite include integrations with third-party software. While we strive to maintain compatibility with new versions of third-party software, we don't guarantee immediate updates or support for integrations following third-party software updates.
Service Availability
- For Connecter Suite subscribers, we aim to maintain 99.9% uptime for cloud-based services, excluding scheduled maintenance or emergencies. While we strive for reliability, uninterrupted access is not guaranteed.
- We reserve the right to interrupt services temporarily due to maintenance or technical difficulties.
- Availability of third-party solutions integrated with the Software or Connecter Suite is subject to the terms and conditions of the respective third-party providers, and we can't guarantee their availability.

Optional Analytics and Telemetry
If telemetry is enabled, anonymized and aggregated data from locally stored information may be shared with us to improve the Software. Telemetry is disabled by default and requires your consent.
Problem Reporter
The Problem Reporter feature allows you to submit feedback and issue reports. Submitted data, such as usage logs, is used solely to diagnose and resolve issues. To send a report, you must provide an email address that may differ from your Design Connected ID. By submitting, you agree that we may contact you at this email to address the issue.
For more details, see:
User Data and Cloud Integration
User Data in the Connecter ecosystem remains fully under the user's control, whether stored on local premises or in cloud storage services managed by the user. Connecter Suite features like Version Control and Hybrid DAM integrate with trusted public cloud storage providers like Amazon AWS, Google Drive, and others.
To use cloud-based features, users must set up and manage their own storage accounts, granting Connecter Suite access to process their data. The Connecter Desktop App and Connecter Suite features do not store user data. Users retain full control and responsibility for their data while benefiting from integrations with their chosen cloud providers.
GDPR Compliance
We comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). For details, refer to our Privacy Policy.
