Studio updates in Generate Custom Previews
To help you get the best possible results, Connecter regularly improves the preview studios used in the Generate Custom Previews feature. These updates may include:
- Better visual quality for more accurate and attractive previews.
- Technical improvements for better consistency across different use cases.
- Performance optimizations to speed up preview generation.
- Fixes for any issues identified in earlier studio versions.
By keeping your studios up to date, Connecter ensures your previews always reflect the latest improvements, without extra setup.
How it works?
When you open the Generate Custom Previews interface, Connecter checks for updates to any studios you’ve already downloaded. If newer versions are available, Connecter automatically updates them by replacing the old files in the background.
Once updated, a notification will inform you. You’ll see a notification icon in the Status column next to each updated studio. Clicking it will show details about the changes. After you’ve reviewed the update, the notification disappears, and the regular folder icon returns.
What if I’ve modified a studio?
Sometimes, you may have customized a studio to better suit your workflow – for example, by adjusting lighting, camera angles, or materials to match your desired preview results better. These edits help fine-tune the output, but they also mean that Connecter treats the studio as user-modified and will take extra care to preserve your changes:
- Connecter detects those changes and automatically backs up your modified version before applying the update.
- Backups are saved in the Studio Backups folder inside your Studios Repository. You’ll be notified and given a quick way to access the backup if you want to continue using it.
- If you want to continue using your modified studio, add it as a separate studio. This way, you can keep working with your custom version while benefiting from the latest updates in the default studios. For step-by-step instructions on adding studios, see the Generate Previews Guide.
For teams
Studio updates are triggered only once, by the first team member who opens the Generate Custom Previews interface after a new studio version is released. Only that Connecter instance will show the update notifications. Other team members will see the already updated studios without additional prompts.
