With the Connecter 7.1 and 3ds Max integration 3.0.49 update, we’re introducing an important change regarding our integration with Autodesk 3ds Max. From this version onward, we’ll support only 3ds Max 2023 and newer for the Connecter integration.
What’s changing?
- New Connecter users will no longer be able to install the Connecter integration on 3ds Max 2022 or older. These versions will appear as “not supported” in the Connecter installer.
- Existing users who already have the integration installed on 3ds Max 2019–2022 will still be able to use their current version, but:
- They won’t be able to update to future versions of the integration.
- They won’t be able to reinstall the integration on the same or another machine.
- We’ll no longer provide support for older integration versions.
- Older integration versions will not be available for download – only the latest version will be publicly accessible.
Why are we making this change?
The development landscape for 3ds Max is constantly evolving. Supporting older versions has become increasingly complex due to:
- Ongoing platform changes that frequently break existing features.
- New features in Connecter’s integration that depend on capabilities are available only in newer 3ds Max versions.
We must focus on a narrower and more modern range of 3ds Max versions to continue delivering a stable, innovative, and high-performance integration.
We understand this change may affect some users, and while we can’t provide a smoother transition, we hope you understand the reasons behind this decision.
If you're working with 3ds Max 2022 or older and rely on the Connecter integration, please note that uninstalling your current version or moving to another machine will make it impossible to reinstall the integration, as older versions will no longer be available or supported.
