  • Support for 3ds Max 2025: Required a rebuild of the UI and major code update.
    NOTE: The current version of Autodesk 3ds Max 2025 has many compatibility issues that affect Connecter’s integration, as well as V-Ray, Corona Renderer, and many other plugins. They will be resolved in the future.
    KNOWN ISSUE: In some cases, the “Add Asset” from 3ds Max with 2025 studio preview rendering does not apply the correct color profile.
    SOLUTION: Use the “Generate Custom Previews” feature in Connecter after you save the asset.
  • Notification inside 3ds Max that there is a new integration version that can be installed.

  • Fixed: Network paths that begin with escape characters (e.g., t, x, ", n, r, *, ?, %, etc.) were recognized as invalid and prevented the merging drag & drop interaction for assets with such paths.

  • Context menu when merging assets with drag & drop:
    • Removed commands: Open (max default), Merge, About/Config, Merge UI, Replace UI.
    • Renamed commands: Open > Open File, Merge (max default) > Merge with Max Dialog, Аll "Merge…" commands are now "Merge and Place...".
    • Commands are rearranged following a more logical and intuitive structure.
    • Flyout menus with more context options are added to the Replace commands.
  • Align Assets Dialog:
    • The dialog is now positioned down right in the Max interface in order to not interfere with the merging interactions.
    • The dialog now doesn't block the other interactions in Max, so the user can still navigate the viewport while merging assets.
    • Removed: "Replace All Target Instances" option.
  • Manage External Files (MEF): 
    • Added "Auto Find Settings" dialog with separate options for merging assets and adding assets. Accessible through: Right-click context menu > Connecter Preferences > Auto-find External Files Settings.
    • Added "Search & Relink" dialog with functionality to search and manage the external files when merging/adding assets or working with the opened 3d scene.
      • Now search can work with selected favorite locations.
    • Added a "Refresh" button which resolves all external paths listed in MEF.
    • When opened through the context menu, MEF is no longer blocking the other interactions in 3ds Max, thus allowing the user to interact simultaneously with the scene and MEF.
    • Removed "LargeIcon" and "List" views.
    • Removed "Change thumbnail size" element.
    • Context menu on external file:
      • Removed.
      • Renamed: "Set path" is now "Set new path". 
  • Auto Find External Files Settings:
    • "Manage External Files - Options" dialog is now "Auto-find External Files Settings".
    • "Preferences" section: 
      • Removed "Show only missing files" option (it's now available in the main MEF interface).
      • Removed "Show all materials and objects the files is used for" option.
      • Removed "Don't show MEF dialog if all files are found".
      • Renamed: "Auto find and relink the missing files on startup" is now "Auto find missing files on asset merge" and "Auto find missing files on add/update" respectively.
